xenias, gsp and kenya trees are good first corals. Kenya trees were my first coral, and have lasted through almost everything, bad water, being crushed by falling rocks, bad lighting.

Initial Setup
1. ADA 90p with built in overflow - Nice!
2. Coralife Skimmer rated for 65g - Don't like this skimmer but you can find something better later
3. MP10 - You need 2 MP10 for this tank
4. Mag9.5 - Better a mag 7 or 5
5. Test kit (NO2,NO3, NH3, PH, Phosphate .... later CA,ALK, MG)
6. Refratometer
7. RO/DI unit
8. Heater
Later with Corals:
9. Ligths
10. Phosban reator
11. Controller
12. ATO

What type of light you plan in using? This limits the different types of corals you can keep.
Generally, anything soft is easy to keep, i.e. zoas, green star polyp, pulsing zenias, mushrooms, recordia, etc. These corals tend to grow faster, can live in lower light, lower flow areas.
Lps, are a little harder to keep but not much. Large stony polyp grow slower and requires a little more light.
I think you are good with softies and LPS.

starting salt
Okay, I'm starting a salt tank. Planning on basic corals and a couple inverts/fish...nothing too fancy. This is what I have so far:
ADA 90p with built in overflow
Coralife Skimmer rated for 65g
MP10
Mag9.5
What else(aside from a sump) should I get before I set this up?Tags: None
