The reactor can be installed inside or outside the sump. Those pellets are a solid form of carbon. Beneficial bacteria use the carbon as well as nitrates and phosphate to metabolize and reproduce. So basically using that reactor with the pellets will lower the nutrient levels in your aquarium.

Update... So I finally got the plumbing done and its running quiet and efficient.











This weeks mission is to get this reactor running and hopefully the skimmer. Introducing my Reef Octopus BR-110.











I will be using 500 ml worth Ecobak bio pellets.
