Nope, still paying soymilk (thanks again) for it. Just to clarify, you may have SEEN small ADA tanks drilled like the one at FG. Most of the small ADA tanks are 5mm up to 45-p and mini-L. 60-p is 6mm. 75p is like 8mm. 90p is like 10mm and so on. I would not drill anything less than 8mm glass thickness. FG cracked 2 ADA tanks before getting the third one right and they drill tanks everyday for a living.

I am using a 20K Coralife bulb. Maybe the light was too close and they were not ready for the intensity.

14k jbj isn't a very good bulb. from what i've heard and experience.

Anyone else use metal halide? I'm changing bulbs around and my coral ain't liking them at all. They were ok under led, and t5. 10k coralife they all stayed ok, 14k jbj and everything closed up quick and stayed that way for about 2 weeks. Switched back to t5 and everything is happy again.
Does this seem normal?

was gonna get a new stand and make a sump for it. But i guess you're right.... overflow box it is then. I did want you guys suggested. I put a new 14k jbj hqi light it there. Found a new one used for 25 bucks, couldn't resist.
So far my corals are not liking the new light. As of right now, i've had a huge copepod/daphnia explosion. These guys are everywhere. I dunno if its because of this, or the new light thats affecting my coral. I'll get some pics out tomorrow.

looks like imma have to set up the 90p as a reef tank.
Are the bigger ada tanks drillable? I think i might just go with an overflow box just in case though. What you guys think?

i would, but i kinda hate the idea of drilling such a nice ada tank. But 90p is a bit too big IMO. I was gonna do the while iwagami setup, but after its finished...... it gets boring. Trimming is a mother.... rather have a nice small nano tank.

Yeah, that redsea max is a decent deal. That light mod is worth it. Heat might be an issue.
I don't have barely any scum on the surface. I aim my k-nano towards the top and it breaks the surface up decently.
You should set up that 90p as a reef tank!
