Keep the input coming guys.
I'm thinking about setting up a sump for this tank. At John's right now liking at some DYI overflow boxes.
If I go with corals only I'm worried about my filtration system.I ate my fish that died.

Surface scum....
This canister is rated for 80gph and I got a 5g tank. Bet the filter doesn't flow that much with all this LR I stuffed in there and the floss.
I just really want a sump so I can increase water volume, have more LR, and deal with the dang surface scum. I can picture a little snail dieing and have a mini cycle b/c of it.I ate my fish that died.

Depends on which type of lights you are talking about. But mostly likely yes.
Corals need light like plants to grow. If you are referring to any type of planted tank light then yes.
The more the light the faster the growth.I ate my fish that died.

But dont corals need more of the blue which is why SW lights have acinic lights as opposed to FW plantsComment

I'm split on that. I have always used more blue with my corals. There are alway a lot of reports on other forums that zoas (in particular) grow better in all attenic lights....personally I never tried. There are also reports that using only 6700K lights work...it just doesn't look as good.
I can say for sure that corals LOOK BETTER if you are using a combo of blue. When I only use attenics the corals I have look like they glow in the dark.I ate my fish that died.
