Nowadays they make all kinds of light spectrum for bulbs. You can usually find it on the bulb somewhere, if not you can always eyeball it and take a guess.

Big Q, for you guys. What do you guys think about skimmers an keeping them on? I have a submersible red sea 60, and that thing is eating up gallons. So right now I keep it on for 7 hours then I turn it off, then I turn it on for 7 hours while I go to bed , then repeat. Is it okay to turn it off and on? It jus evaporates so much water.

In a tank that size, I wouldn't worry about a skimmer. I'd just change about 3 to 4 gallons of water every week.

What do you mean your skimmer is eating up water? You shouldn't run off the skimmer. It will never be able to get the right mix.

When I say it 'eats up water' i mean it speeds up the evaporation in my tank. Should I just peace out with the skimmer and sell it? It's brand new!

+1. Thats doesnt make any sense. Skimmers dont speed up the process. They are enclosed so evap cant leave. It doesnt hurt to have a skimmer on the tank but IMO its not needed on that size tank. But it depends on bio-load. I am not running one on my 50G.

My skimmer is submersible, and the bubbles exit through the top.

What kind of skimmer is that? Brand? I'd like to look it up and see which one you're referring to.
