Where do you guys find the patience? I don't think I could handle the waiting

Honestly for me, it's not about waiting for the corals to grow. If it was it would be akin to watching paint dry.

It's about all the other things going on in a reef tank.

Just had one of the scariest mornings ever. Was getting my son ready for school when my wife came into his room and was like did you do anything to the tank last night. "Uh not really, why?" "Well its like white in the tank". To which I replied damn it and ran downstairs to see a tank that looked like milk and I looked at my controller and the pH jumped from 8.0 to 9.05. I added new kalk to my ATO and put an MJ1200 to circulate the water. Well the lift pump must have picked up a big clump of kalk or something. So I shut off the ATO, replaced my filter sock and did a water change. Only had about 75G in the holding tank. Went home for lunch and the tank is still cloudy but all of the corals are opened and all fish have been accounted for and now the pH is 8.25. The rocks look like it snowed in there.

Got to premix that kalk water brahhh.

It does in the ATO. I got that MJ running to mix it but it must have need water before it was done. I need to go back to the little eheim i had in there before. I never had problems with it. This is the second time I have had it act up since I put that MJ in there this by far being the worse case. The other pump is like a 200GPH pump.

No these pics were from the day before the kalk fiasco. Everything is alive though but water is still a little cloudy and the rocks look like its snowed in there. I cleaned out my GFO last night and that crap was like a brick. The kalk binded with the gfo and made it hard as a rock.

Tyree was from Coolname (Huy) on Marsh he gave it to me as trade for the ballasts.
