Has anyone here ever kept them... I haven't done ky research and have restrained from doing an impulse buy but I'd really like to get some for my nano.

The nano is gonna be a bit of work.

They are really messy eaters.
What I did with my pair wasi kept a spare tank and had multiple chocolate stars and it was for cultivating limbs. Cut bits of the leg off for feedings and this will allow the star to stay alive and regrow its limb.

Other than that its simple, very nice and cool shrimp. Don't have too many hiding spots cause they are creepers
