  • What is going on with my Niger Trigger?

Ok, I've had the trigger for about a week now in my tank. It eats like crazy and have been doing well and haven't mess with my lawnmower bleeny or anything in tank. I just put in 2 Percula Clowns this morning. These clowns seems to be chasing everything in the tank (I also have 2 tiny yellow back damsels when I set up tank to help stir things up). Its like Nemo have been picking on the trigger and damsels all afternoon. Now I just see my trigger hidden in a rock (yes, its still alive). I've tried feeding the fishes but my trigger won't come out of the hole. Is something wrong? Or do I just have a wussy trigger? LOL.

    Sounds like a wussy tigger.

I would give them a few more days to get a long before changing anything.
I ate my fish that died.

LOL. Lets hope so. I got the trigger from a friend and plan on not keeping it long since it will outgrow my tank. But thats the 1st "real fish" I have in the tank since I'm new to SW. I'm be really pissed if something happened to it. My son loves that trigger (but he's the one that wanted Nemo in the tank).

How big are the clown fish?

        How big is the trigger?

Honestly just sounds like a shy trigger.

The trigger is at most 4 inches and my clowns are maybe 1 1/2 inches. My lawnmower blenny is even bigger than the clowns. HAHA

I agree with Johnson. My Lawnmower Blenny is the shy boy in my tank. He seems to love entertaining us for hours but let someone new come in the room and he will go hide. Heck I can even put a snail in the tank and he hides until he thinks it maybe safe to come back out again lol.

I know a Niger Trigger in a 13,000g tank that hides in his rock formation pretty much all day until feeding time. He's not a wuss, he definitely defends himself if he needs to, and swims around occasionally, but he just likes his rocks.

Niger triggers are usually kind of passive, thats why so many people like them... give him time.

Yeah, to me he looks weird but in a sense awesome. All the kids besides my son thinks he is ugly. HAHA.

I've had my niger trigger since sunday and i've only seen it once and it was going to one side of the tank to the other in rocks.
