  • Who's up for some Ray's?

As an antiterror measure, the US government has deployed mobile X-ray technology to randomly scan cars and trucks. But the measure is riling privacy proponents.

All in the name of national security my friends....prepare to be assimulated....for most of you, this kinda thing won't bother you now, but come 15 years down the road, the extra rads some of you get now, will all add up....like Paul McCartney says.....on the Band on the Run album......"say bye bye".....

Okay... you're parked or traveling on a public street. This is nothing more than a tool the enhance the vision of the law officer to see what is arguably in "clear view". I understand that the 4th amendment extends a person's vehicle to their "effects" but in this case, they are scanning for large things like drugs, weapons, and humans. They're not looking for hidden contraband like roaches, crack pipes, or loose pills. They're looking for things that obviously guilt people would try to hide.

At some point you have to negotiate your constitutional rights with the Law Enforcement Community's ability to enforce the law and protect the populace. A good example would be comparing these scanners to those DUI check-points. Those are what is unconstitutional and open the door to illegal stops, searches, seizures, detainment, and possibly incarceration. I'd be more worried about LEO's abusing those than the big-dogs using X-ray scanners to find the mules.

      Just my .02 cents.

Lets look at all the nice things technology and government have brought us so far......

Well....we got tons of chemicals in our drinking water.....I'm sure over time that has no affect on the human body now right....? (even though it will kill our tropical fish in minutes if we don't treat the "drinking water"

And let's see, we got tons of other chemicals being sprayed in the atmosphere by who knows which branch of government, in order to control the weather they say....and of course, those chemicals will not harm us either.....cool....

Then there's the GMO foods that we are comsuming on a daily basis...I don't know about you guys, but I just love my Genetically Modiifed Veggies....too bad the honey bees couldn't get over the taste of all those built in pesticides and all...but we got no problems with the way it taste....humm gooood......

There's the always stimulating H1N1 flu shots with who knows what in them.....

So why worry about an extra MILLION rads of radiation or whatever it takes to insure your safety while driving down the road.

This is just the short list too.....

Love the night light pun.....when they give you lemons, make lemonaide....

If they're obviously guilty, then we wouldn't need technology like this, correct?

I'm on the fence on this one right now.

It just seems to me that a lot of folks are experiencing more health issues at earlier ages these days, people are dying in their fifties now from what used to be the norm for folks in their sixties or above......I have seen so many stories online and even on the news about young women suffering all kinds of reactions to that human papillomavirus shot that Governor Perry made manditory for 13 year olds and was later repealed due to the reactions and even a couple cases of death associated with it.....and there seems to be little or no real concern on the part of the general public when state and local law enforcement uses advanced technologies like this to benefit their goal to keep us all safe from the boogie man.....is there a trade off somewhere I cant' see.....like radiating a few hundred americans, to catch a dozen bad guys with illegal drugs or maybe even weapons.....???

What if 2 percent of those few hundred americans developed cancer from heavier doses than normal xrays from being "scanned" ??? Where's the upside?

We have too many people. We don't have enough fish. Everyone do their part and hold their breath until this co2 thing goes away.

If ObamaCare is allowed to continue wihout being repealed or severly revaulated and written.....you can bet those numbers will drop in a big way....

and that chart only reflects what can be considered a possisble futuristic report.

....it's "The average number of years a newborn is expected to live with current mortality patterns remaining the same."

I doubt whether they consider all the factors I mention in my various threads on what is in our waters and air and even in our food...
