This article made my jaw drop. They are mad at us for us being pissed that BP is destroying Americas national treasure? What if Exxon Valdez crashed off the coast of Britain? I promise you they would be at least as pissed and probably even more claiming that Americans dont care about the environment.

Well after finding out some new info. I may have to recant my opinion on Britains opinion of our government. The Dutch and Britains have offered us help and the Obama adminstration declined the help saying that the Jones Act would not allow it. But it is within Obama's right to suspend the act in emergencies and Bush did such after Hurricane Katrina to provide assistance to those affected by foreign governments. Like is secretary Emanuel said never let a crisis go to waste.

waste of time. And he used it to talk about clean energy, why? Because like I said before he is using Emanuels old addage. Our economy is on the brink and to have a disaster like this that will consume a lot of resources and then to say I want to throw money at something that will be at least a decade away doesnt make sense. Spain is currently throwing billions a clean energy and have yet to come up with a viable solution but were successful in destroying their economy with their pipe dreams.

Without getting too caught up I felt the same way. It seemed like the answer to the problem at hand is more legislation. Noooooo... the solution to the problem at hand is capping the well.
I don't think for a second that the explosion and subsequent leak is some left wing conspiracy to push their policies, but man, talk about good timing. Emanuel was right. Never let a good crisis go to waste.
Experiencing an aquatic renaissance!
