Keeping Church and State Seperate...

The truth is, I'm finding this conversation tiresome.

Would this statement be an acceptance of "The Absolute Truths" and meant to be taken literally

or

Is this a relative statement of concession to the irrefutable facts laid out in this discussion.

Either way I really, honestly was hoping for some opposing views backed by more than "Because I don't like it" or "I don't think it's fair" but if that is all the opposing views have to offer, I believe you are correct. This topic warrants no further discussion as the facts are pretty clear that there is no reasonable need to continue with the "separation of church and state" nonsense in public schools. In fact, political correctness has gone way too far already and it's time to begin the pull back to reality and for people to "Butch up" a little.

In the interest of splitting hairs, 'Intelligent Design' is not really accepted in the scientific community as valid science.

If you search Google Scholar, you'll find the majority of articles actually published in scientific journals are articles that argue just this point, or op-ed type columns such as this one that talk about how it's not a science.

Scientifically speaking, Evolution is only a theory. With regard to the origin of man neither Intelligent Design or Evolution has been proven or disproven at this point.

And thank you for restoring my faith that the art of debate is not completely dead by stating a position then backing it up with some intelligible points rather than using the tactic “If you don’t like what they are saying, shut them up with your feelings”. I have 0 tolerance for the cowardly tactics of using “Racism, Tolerance, Fair, Feelings, Inclusive, etc…” to attempt to shut people up when you don’t “Like” what someone’s position is.

LOL, split hairs all day long I'm an adult and I'm not going to cry or have my entire reality come crushing down on me if I am proven wrong. It's how people learn. You have to be willing to be wrong if you want to learn as well as when entering a debate.

Amazing how this works isn't it. You told me I was wrong, I owned it, I accepted it and I acknowledged it. The world didn't come to an end, my “feelings” weren’t hurt, I didn’t cry about you being unfair and not once did I even feel the need to reply with a smart a$$ comment. I also didn't' have the desire to make a statement equivalent to an 8 year old saying "I'm taking my ball and going home"

I realize I am late to the party but my view is that "separation" of church has been hijacked or bastardized by those who wish belittle or obscure religion. The intent of such separation if I am not mistaken is to ensure that government is separate from church.

The true goal of separation being the prevention of Religious based governments such as can be seen throughout European history where the church held real power with titular monarchs, dictators or other public figuires as the public face.

However over the years we have allowed separation to mean that religion may not be recognized or practiced anywhere government or public money is used to fund an organization or entity.

That said why is that tolerance is practiced to the exclusion of everything the country was founded upon? I.e. it is acceptable to recognize any faith but christianity. It is acceptable to promote the interests of any ethnicity but anglos. It is acceptable to promote the interests of any sexual preference other than heterosexuals.

It seems that as long as what you promote is contrary to the judeo-christian, anglo, heterosexual point of view it is allowed and embraced as enlightened and tolerant. Anything supporting those principals is roundly suppressed and condemned as offensive, insensitive and intolerant of others

Gene is 100% right, but what we also have to remember, is to respect the minority persepctives. Just the majority of the German people were behind Hitler, does not mean it was right for what he did.

Wow...this thread is still going on...

I literally started this thread because i hate having Christianity thrown in my face every day. I don't give a rats greasy a$$ if the idiots that signed a piece of paper were Christian or not...i don't want "In God We Trust" on my money...i don't want to say "one nation under God" anymore i think its insane that i have to place my hand on a bible in court and swear to a God i don't believe in and then if i lie "under oath" i can be punished for that...how ridiculous is that...?
The truth is...its NOT fair. Im not crying about it or getting my panties in a bunch because i know Im the minority. Im not asking for people to burn down churches or abolish Christianity...i would just like for America to realize that some of us are offended by the things i listed and maybe its time to make a few minor changes to help us evolve into a nation that really cares about the diversity of its people.
Oh and Im sure Nick was not hitting on me a couple of pages back...but of he were...lolololol.
