  • Houston Texas Tailgating

    Bullcrap!

Knowing this would be the largest tailgating event this year the Texans dropped the ball. Adding additional security would have been the best thing to do!

But nooooooooooooooooooo. Now you want to kill your fan support.

I think it was the more important fans asking for it.

I missed the artical on the news last night....what exactly did it say? I only saw a fraction of the report......are they restricting folks from coming into the parking lots now?

Apparently you now have to have either a ticket for that day's game or a tailgating pass to tailgate.

Forgive me for being ignorant, but is that bad? I mean, I'm sure the "regulars" with the big tailgating operations will get passes, or too many people would complain. Do lots of people tailgate without actually going to the game?

If it were me, I'd much rather have a ticket and tailgate or just not be there at all. Why mess with all the game-day traffic and crowds if you aren't even gonna be at the game??

Ah......well.....I guess the main thing was to curb traffic around the park.....that I can understand...no one likes being stuck in traffic.......makes sense to me...

I think it might have been the craziness of last weekend that prompted them to put this new rule into effect. But I haven't spoken to Geoff about it yet, so I'm just going on what I read in the article. He was there, so he may have a different perspective. Lol.

              Totally agree!

If anything, we should blame the a-hole cowboy fans that were fighting.

This is what makes me mad...

                1. As I am standing in line about 15 mintues before kickoff, everywhere you looked people are still entering parking lots and trying to find parking. Get REAL PEOPLE!! ITs the freaking Cowboy Game and there is going to be a TON MORE PEOPLE. Get there like myself and most others about 2 hours before the game, enjoy an hour or more of tailgating, and then enter the stadium about 30 minutes before kickoff and be in your seat a little before the National Anthem. Come one it was unreal the traffic and it totally sucked. And if you dont like tailgating, they don't open the stadium until 2 hours before game time anyway, so go in and be bored sitting in there.

                2. The Reliant Stadium people sucked. They did not do their part in taking care of the trash, the traffic, or added security. It was not a happy place. Litterally at the trashcans as you enter the stadiums it was piled chest high in beer cans, cups, and bottles. It was sickening... Lots of my friends who stayed in the parking lot's said the port-a-potties were full, and trashed beyond use, so people started pissing in the parking lots and whatnot... So Reliant STAFF dropped the ball seriously.

                3. All the season Ticket Holders, who sold their tickets to places like Ticketmaster for $400-500 so that Fairweather Fans and Cowboy Fans could go to the GAME. The worst part of it was the Bull Pen, man it was like 60/40 in there, and its never like that.

                4. Crybabies in the Platinum Lot who have to cross Blue Lot to get to their parking who *****ed and moaned about traffic and not being able to park. Platinum Lot is the Suite Level and Press. Get to the Freakin Game ontime...geezz...

I don't see any problem with them restricting access to those who have purchased tickets or who have some sort of tailgating pass. . . you're just hogging up space otherwise, because you can eat hot dogs and watch it on TV at home, if you're not going to actually be in attendance at the game. I just park at work (they can't tell me I can't park there), and walk over. Then again, I'm one of those people who doesn't see the value in having to drink alcohol and be surrounded by others doing the same at every single event, party, get-together, etc. in order to have a good time.

If you want to be there for the comraderie, there are bars everywhere or you could have people over. . .
Tell your boss you need to go home to take care of your "cichlids." It sounds an awful lot like "sick kids." )
