First I would like to invoke the following rule of engagement...
I call, "With all due respect"
So, there has been a lot of smack talking in many forms by many people (including myself). What I have observed is that there are a lot of strong feelings and opinions for and against people sharing their thoughts, feelings, experiences, etc... about many topics. Now this always seems to draw the responses of banning users, locking threads, deleting threads and posts, and of course many others including my personal favorite... "This is stupid immature and a waste of time" (usually followed by a flurry of posts from that mature, intelligent person who's time is to precious to waste on such issues)
BUT... Yes a big BUT, look at the thread statistics. The threads in the lounge that draw the most views statistically are overwhelmingly dominated by the threads that seem controversial.
What does this mean? Do people really enjoy these threads more than they are willing to admit? Is it the "Train Wreck" that people just can't look away from?
I have my own opinion on this but it certainly does make you think when the data is there and so obvious.
