Megan's Tropical Emporium is going out of business

I have not been to this store but looking at the pictures it looked like a nice place.  It is unfortunate to see a lfs go out of business.

This is not good news; I thought they were one of the better pet stores and bought my fish for a fair price.

Before Ike, a pet store closed quickly in Texas City.  Their fish department was not good; Bob & Mark will know what I am talking about.

There was a pet store in Galveston and am sure they had a lot of flood damage.  I am not sure if they will be re-opening.   Later, ken

Recently, the Galveston County area has lost almost all of their Fish Stores
Galveston Area flooded but even berore that
2 LFS in Texas City closed
only LFS in Dickinson closed
Megan's makes the second store near Gulf Frwy & Beltway 8

Thankfully We still have AquaZoo
And last week I found one last little bitty LFS near Mall of the Mainland "Jungle Jims"
I was supprised to find clean tanks, Knowledgeable staff, and a nice selection of fish, even Discus.
I lost 5 of my 6 red & blue tetras when I lost power and they had exactly 5 big healthy ones that called out to me "buy me, buy me"
and I got 3 pair of Emperor Tetras, 2 clown loaches, a DOJO & some frozen brine shrimp for my hungry bettas
And they smile when they take your plastic

I remember when Megan first got that store, when it used to be Neptunes. I was so hoping she would make it. Aqua Zoo is a great store. I can't wait for them to get bigger!

Bob, I thought you new about Jungle Jims.  I believe Jim (older guy) still owns the store and Patrick (younger guy with beard) runs the place.  They have been buying fish from me for several years like swordtails, mollies, platties, guppies and angel fish.  I will be taking an order in for them this week.  When the other stores LFS close they get more business.  Mention my name the next time you are in there.  Glad you found some fish you like.  Later, ken
