    Support the troops

    The men and women coming home from war are finding that their benefits are less than they were promised going in. Funding for educational benefits and medical treatment needs to be adequate. Our US senators are Kay Bailey-Hutchison and John Cornyn. To find your US representative, go here: http://www.fyi.legis.state.tx.us/

    I urge all Boxers to write, e-mail and call these folks who represent us in Washinton to take care of these men and women who fight in our armed forces. If we don't kick these politicians in the butt, "Support our Troops" just becomes lip service.

    I've written them both before in regards to other matters, and they always send me back a standard response cover letter, I don't believe they are interested, but I will write them both again, in regards to this worthy cause as well.

      I've written our Senators numerous times as well, one time I got an autographed picture. Needless to say, I was pretty insulted...however, as CF stated, I will write again for such a worthy cause.

          Yeah, I got a pre-written letter with my name filled in and a friggin' autographed picture.

            In the spring of 07, I wrote Kay Bailey-Hutchison in regards to the Trans Texas Corridor and told her I was against it. Her office sent me back a nice letter in regards to horses being misplaced or abused by ranchers or farmers and what she was going to do about it, her correspondence had nothing to do with the Trans Texas Corridor.  

            I really don't know what to think of our government officials anymore.
