Re: A Walk Down Memory Lane

    I got to try that.

      Thanks Zulaab
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Purr-Box gone fishing - I do miss that cat.   Anybody got a calico kitten they want to get rid of ?   :bsofftopic:

Love Street Light Show and Feel Good Machine...used to take dates there and see Bubble Puppy and Lightin' Hopkins; you laid on a padded vinyl floor and made out while a light show swirled around the band/singer.
        I was 15 when I started going there...Allen's Landing was a 60's dream.
Anyone remember the Moving Sidewalks or the 99th Floor Elevators?
KLOL's giant Turkey Roast Smokeout on one Thanksgiving Day? Herman Park, on the Hill?
Not that I espouse illegal activities...
But my hazy Memory Lane includes a lot of smokey moments; Houston was a fun place to grow up. The Montrose in da '70s... 8)
Now, I feel good listening to the Beatles and Dylan with my 7 year old (she loves Blood on the Tracks, and the White Album)and realize I am a real old fogey...rock and roll will never die!

Re: A Walk Down Memory Lane

Houston was indeed a different place back then.  Let's not forget the Catacombs, which like many other places, was dark and smokey, and then there was the local rock band, Fever Tree (one of many).
Reasoning with some people is like trying to nail jello to a wall...

When I got out of the Navy in 1972 we were all singing

You know if he doesn't treat you right you can always superglue his ding-a-ling while he sleeps.
