I'm looking to learn some basic video editting to post youtube videos with titles, music, and (hopefully) basice splicing. Anybody use anything?

Windows movie maker does a good job. It's a dumbed down version of Sony Vegas. I prefer using Vegas when I actually have something worth editing though. I think retail, Sony Vegas runs between 250-700 depending on the versions... I bet since you're a teacher, you can get some sort of education discount and get it for 100-150. It's a great program, but if you're just looking for the basics.. Windows movie maker is just fine
