No kidding. These squids I see with no gear floor me. My son watched a guy die the other night at Perry & 249. No gear. He tried to pass someone & hit a curb. Bike took out a light pole, he took out a fire hydrant. My son stayed long enough for them to put the sheet on him. Messed his head up for a while. The guys usually go out for a weekly ride through the National Forest, eat at Yankees & come home. They have one main rule & it's served them well: No gear, no go.

I'm an all the gear all the time person. I would hate to see some one wreck and not make it. We went to coffee and cars one day and on the way home we saw some one that jumped from the beltway overpass.. That made me sick to my stomach, I wasn't right the rest of the day.

Happy to hear you wear your gear! So many don't. Who cares if you look cool & everyone can see who you are. I don't! I'd rather be protected than pretty. I remember that day of the jumper, too. I've witnessed the deaths of quite a few people myself. Held a complete strangers hand as she took her last breath 10 years ago. That still bothers me. She was just on her way to work & some idiot 17 year old kid took her life. He never even came over to check on the people's lives he changed that day when he caused the wreck. Just sat there on the side of the road angry cuz he wrecked his pretty truck.

We were planning on going to C&C this coming Saturday, but Shawn's surgery kinda cancelled that for us. If I can get him to sleep... I'm still gonna sneak out with the guys, lol.

That's horrible. After my accident when I came to first thing I did was check on the people in the SUV.

I will never ride with out gear and I will preach to those who do ride with out it. It saved my life.

Tell Shawn I'll be thinking about him.

I'm 53 and having a tonsillectomy on 4/4. My doctor is saying a one week recovery.

Good news about your grandmother it's good to hear that the doctors in Mexico are that good.

Grandma got lucky, for sure. Being here left us feeling completely helpless. Not like we could have done anything to save her, but we were worried about the conditions, facilities, etc. Shocked & relieved everyone when the doc here said they saved her life & that they did so well no further surgery was required. Glad they ported where they did.

Daniel, I am hoping Shawn recovers quicker than they're telling him & I also hope your recovery is only a week! Everything I've read & from what the doctors have told us, it's gonna be rough. Not looking forward to this one tiny bit & I'm sure you aren't either. :( Makes me glad I had mine out when I was a kid!

My ENT has a good pedigree so I hope she's right.

Mine is out patient surgery at the Kirby Surgical center.

I know several people that have had this late in life and they say the end results are worth it.

I know they will be. I keep telling him he's gonna be thankful in the long run. In fact, it's going to be worth it for both of us, lol. He can't sleep, he can't talk sometimes, he can't breathe & his tonsils are touching together. Looks like he swallowed ping pong balls & they're stuck there in the back of his throat. Doc looked at them and her first words were, "Oh my God." Not what you want to hear, lol. I just want to get it over with & get everything back to our level of normal. Good luck with your surgery, too, Daniel!

Life can be such a rollercoaster sometimes...sounds like it's been a crazy one for you lately! Hopefully that means things will be smooth for awhile!
Glad to hear everything came out so well for Grandma! And good luck with everything coming up, we'll keep you in our thoughts- definitely let us know if there's anything we can do to help.

Thank you Johnny. Yes, It definitely can be quite a ride, Sasha! Got a text tonight from my mom that grandma is back in the hospital today. She had chest pains at church but no sign of a heart attack in her tests. They kept her anyway... & Shawn came home sick from bowling... sigh. Round 2... ding, ding, ding!

So, tomorrow morning they're going in to check on one of grandma's stents that may be causing the pain. Angiogram & heart cath. Grandma's ok with it & in good spirits but of course, we are worried & nervous. She told me I could come take her place & goodness knows I would, in a heartbeat. Just gotta keep thinking positive thoughts!

Sucks being sick most the time. I got a nasty chest cold turned into pneumonia then got a sinus infection lol.

I use to ride so I always give motorcycles the right of way.

I want a kawasaki zrx1200r so bad but the wife says no. I would probably just sit on it in the garage anyway lol.

Nick, I sure hope you're better now. In May of last year Shawn had walking pneumonia, bronchitis, an upper respiratory infection & tonsillitis all at the same time. THAT was NOT fun! LOL They sent him to a pulmonologist who figured out he has untreated allergies & acid reflux. DOH! Allegra D, Nexium & a round or two of antibiotics had him feeling like a champ until the tonsillitis kicked back in 6 weeks later, lol. I am SO glad that after Wednesday we never have to deal with tonsillitis again (at least with him)!
