If you look at the stats where guns are allowed thoes places have the LEAST amount of crime.
They allow it in Switzerland.....Never in the history has Switz ever had a mass shooting at a school.
Teachers should be allowed to carry at school if they have there CHL and trained.
IL has the harshest laws agains guns over 80 % of the murders are by gun
New Hampshire has little to no laws against guns.....guess what.... less then 30% of murders are by gun.
Guns dont kill people, people do. Let's give lawful people something to defend themselves with against the un lawful.
If it's not a gun it's a knife, if its not a knife its a bat, or a there bear hands.
So how do we prevent the kids from gaining access to the guns? Teachers serve as role models and all the kids will know the teachers have them because the media will exploit the fact. Seems to me that the problem is that the kids can easily access the guns and the gun laws should be stricter. This method you speak of seems more lenient.

The problem is not the guns. The problem is that evil people will commit evil acts. I believe the point cichlidfarm is making is that with extra protection either in armed teachers or an added police/marshal presence at schools when incidents occur, and they will because outlawing firearms just takes them from those that follow the law, the extra resources on hand will help to end the altercation earlier and save lives.

I personally believe that arming teachers is a bad idea, given the quality of teachers we have, especially in high risk public schools. Some of these teachers are mentally unfit themselves.
But I also believe that having a couple or more well trained armed personnel would deter some of these mentally unstable youngsters going into a school and killing folks. You must have a deterrent in place first.

I wouldn't go as far as "arming all teachers" but I will say that the removal of school property as a restriction zone or covered with the 30.06 sign which prohibits a LICENSED person to carry their CONCEALED firearm onto the property would be greatly effective. Also the removal of Employers prohibiting their CHL'ed employees from possessing a CONCEALED firearm.
@Cichlid Farm: Well you really can't reason it like that. Pick and choose examples isn't a good technique as people can always use it against you.
South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan all have absolute gun control law, no citizens are allowed to have it. So IL doesn't have the harshest laws against guns, it's the countries like those three do. There were never mass shooting at a school or a public place in these countries.
