Mopar doesn't impress me much when it comes to the newer models, even the viper is blahs.

The C6 is a BEAST! That thing is automatic koolaid smiles when behind the wheel.

The vette is probably the only thing from chevy that I would have fun driving other than that I'm a stang fan.

        Bring a change of draws...

I got a hold of one one night at the old workplace and took it well beyond my comfort zone. After getting back to the shop I just sat there for a while cause I couldn't get my legs to move, something about that needle being on the opposite side of the speedo gets to you.

Yet to drive a off the line viper that could impress me like that, even some of the lower end ferraris don't have that feel.

          Good stuff from Mopar, maybe?

I've driven a regular corvette, think it was a 2004. It's fast but not mind blowing. Fastest car I have ever been in was a Dodge Viper. This was back around 2000 so can't remember what year the car was or particular model but it was nuts. My neighbor was driving, took off from a dead stop in 2nd gear very gingerly, cruised at about 20-25 for a second then he punched it. Within a second or two we were doing 60-70 while still in 2nd gear. The feeling it gave, throwing me in the seat was almost like one of those gravity rides at the carnival. Pretty nuts.

            Love this thread.
            Big gearhead here.
Albiet the New Cuda off showroom is not bad, but I cant wait to see what the upgrades will be.
The Roadrunner was just a beauty, but if I went dodge, the dart pre 65' with a blower hands down and street legal
Anyone here planning on getting the new Cuda?

As far as vettes go, the Callaway 96' was too clean.
Too bad it was only in production for a few years.

Me, although I love me some American muscle (errr, calm down naughty pervs, the drool is strictly not....) I am Rotory guy.
This is what I would love to have:

But this will not fit into my 69' Datsun 510 2 door coupe I have.
I currently have a 13B monster port but looking into getting me a 20B 3 rotory as that is max I can have in my baby.

If you're talking bang for your buck, its pretty much impossible to beat a C6, whether its the base or a Z06. I think I'd put a 5.0 Mustang up there too, though its obviously in a different class. The C6s are just so light. One of my friends has a Z06 with straight pipes (valved), upgraded injectors, cam, headers, meth injection, etc... scary fast. A little nauseating when you mix the speed with the fumes Though I think I got used to the smell and started to enjoy it when I went catless too. Another good buddy of mine had a 5.0 and he could keep up with me from a dig, assuming he got his shifts right. Didn't get a chance to compare at a track, but I also haven't had a chance to track my car yet. The Boss 302 is a track beast.

IMO all of the SRTs are just too heavy. Sure, you can toss a huge engine in there, but even the heavy *** Camaro is going to be lighter, and the Mustang significantly so. Modern cars need to lighten up

The way my c5 sits now it should be able to run a 12.6ish or so at the track depending on the launch of course. Not bad considering what's done to it.

                  nice.
where and when did you get the mid - high 12 sec from?
                  1/8 mile or 1/4 mile?
                  want to hear something crazy.
                  We are in the low 13's on a 1/4 (baytown) with a stock 85 (1st gen) rx7.
                  LOL crazy huh.
Just Weber carb, 5 speed mazda trainy. (not saying the rest)
My older bro is in Cali for the Sevenstock that they do once a year.
Im mad as I could not make it this year.
Once my 5Dime is running with a 3 rotor I will def drive it to cali again.
I have a 600 dollar ticket when I drove my 5Dime down here 7 yrs ago - got clocked at 94 and I was slowing down.
I was 20 miles away from the cali border and hindsight now, I should of gunned it
Never would of caught up to me.

                  Man I love speed

I wish the same thing. That is what plymouth made but daimler basically ran chrysler into the ground and killed plymouth.

I am tired of cars being advertised with the biggest navigation screen or the most facebook apps so lame.
