Need Vetinary Help ASAP

Hey we lost our puppya couple of days ago, weve finally found her at spca, but shes got a broken paw, we've got to pay spca for their boarding costs then try to find somewhere where we can afford to get her fixed up.

care credit is out. low cost clinics cant do orthopedic surgery. all estimates range above $2000.

please, if anybody knows somewhere with an unusually compassionate vet, payment plans that dont involve care credit/ mortgage sized downpayments, please pm me, my email will alert me immediately, thank you for any help in advance

yes they do, but they also apparently NEED a vet referral, so now we have to pay 1st spca for boarding and meds, 2nd, our vet to get her seen(which will definitely require him taking an xray first...more cost) and refered and then finally 3rd houston a+m for any surgery...and even when i spoke to them, she estimated 2000 dollars.
this is hopeless.

As bad as it sounds you really don't need to have the foot operated on. I have a Labrador that had the outside bones of one of his back feet crushed when a tilt bed trailer landed on it. (Don't ask). This is a very large dog and he is very active. Because the bones were shattered the foot was just placed in a cast for several months. We had to keep him off of it some. He has possibly lost a step now but still runs hard and doesn't limp. This might be a whole lot cheaper and you might be able to get it done with come credit terms for less down. You do need to make a decision and either do something or decide to do nothing. Much longer and getting it fixed would be worse than doing nothing pain wise for pup. Good Luck with it.

well, we decided to take the plunge and thank god, it all worked out! we were freaking out because the paw was out of line, like bent at 45 degrees to the left where it really shouldn't be bent, i was SO convinced it was completely shattered! we took her to our local vet (who i'd called and asked if they could do a payment plan, they said no, but when the vet saw our pup, and we explained our situation to him, he offered then and there to work with us regardless of how much it would eventually come to - seriously, he's an absolute star for that! in the end it was so cheap we didn't even have to set up a plan, but even so, we were so grateful just for his consideration.) when he looked at it he thought it was broken, we were ready to walk out of the door to save us the price of the xray so we'd have more for what we thought would be inevitable surgery, BUT, the doc insisted we should get it done there first before we went anywhere else, and once again, thank god he insisted we did! it turns out she had dislocated the long bone in her leg from her paw, understand this must still have been HUGELY uncomfortable for her and probably really quite painful, but we were so grateful she hadn't broken it!. he booked her in the next day,put her under and simply popped it back into place and put a temporary splint on. the whole thing cost us about 400, an expensive accident indeed, but she's worth 400 bucks at least! don't you think??

I am so happy to hear it all worked out. And I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. IF you ever run into problems in the future where you need a vet again, I take all my pets to Sugarland Pet Hospital, and will never use any other vet if I can help it.

A kitten showed up at our house about 1 - 1/2 years ago with a cut on her nose. I caught her and drove right over to the vet, no appointment, and they took us right in. After cleaning it up, they said it was really severe. It was cut at an angle and straight through to her skull. The doc said that because of the way a cat's nose is built, he wasn't sure it could be fixed. Plus, she looked to be about 5 weeks old and only weighed 1 lb. But I asked him if he could try and he said yes. So the next morning I brought her back in for the surgery. Apparently in the meantime, the doc had called up one of his friends who is a cat specialist and got some advice. He repaired the damage, and today Jemma is a big healthy beautiful girl. The only difference between her and the other cats is that she sniffs things like a dog (you can hear it) and her purr sounds different.

Total cost: $129.00 And they never charged me for office visits when I had to bring her in for checkups in the weeks following the surgery.

It sounds like your vet is also 'one of the good ones', so please, if you want to post their name, please do. A good vet is hard to find. (Before finding Sugarland Pet Hospital, I had an emergency with another cat and was charged....well, let's just say it was over 2 months of mortgage payments)

It's bellaire richmond animal hospital, we discovered them when we adopted our second from HH, she inevitably came with a cough, but it was way worse than we've ever heard with any other adoption dog, he did the same then actually after the bill was more than the cash in my pocket he told me to just come back when it was convenient for me. in all honesty i don't know why i didn't just chance it with them to start with, but the fear of what it possibly could have been was holding us back, we'll never do that again.
