Had a patient once who had traveled to Thailand and a similar eel actually made its way into the biliary tree of the liver... It somehow remained alive long enough to trash the liver, and we had to take both the liver and gall bladder out once a new liver was available for transplant. Crazy!!!

My dad used to tell me when I was little that I shouldn't be scared of bugs because I was so much larger than them. Totally does NOT apply to this little eel!
