fresh or salt water? i would do a giant red crystal shrimp tank. breed a massive colony, and sell them for a dollar a pop. actually. i'm going to do that in a 20 gallons long maybe sometimes after christmas

Add some manzinita wood take out the koralias, and throw in a few swords and make it a RAM and Altums tank.

That's an option, but so is growing out a male of a large Central American cichlid species.

I've got an empty 90-g, so that's why I was interested in this thread. I've had a couple thoughts: 1) Altums, 2) Tropheus, 3) Male CA cichlid. . . trimac and midas at the top of my list, but Vieja argentea, Hoplarchus psittacus, or Paratheraps zonatus are options, as well.

I had 22 Namansi reef trophs in my 75g which I sold with intentions of breaking down the tank, but I cant bring myself to do it lol. Now im looking for other alternatives...

SO agree with the rams and/or altums. Bad @$$ and not something you see every day. Not so difficult either... and if you're into plants, you could have some large wallplants too. Could even put a school of something in there with the rams/angels. And with the play sand, a nice set of corys, kuhlis, or clowns would be fun.

Taking another angle, I had a beautiful albino oscar in a dark tank with a huge albino cat. The oscar messed up all the plants but I converted to a plantless rockscaped tank and my oscar looked amazing in it. Really fun fish to keep... they feed out of your hand and interact a lot with you once they know who you are. :)
