Pontiac, whose GTO and Firebird muscle cars defined fast rides, drive-ins and cruising for a generation of teenage boys, is going out of business.

My dad had a firebird, my brother, a GTO, and me I got stuck with the VW BUG....it just wasn't fair....but I could get to the beach and back on 2.00.....smiles.

Yeah, they announced last year that GM was phasing out Pontiac through this year. It was a rough day for many of my fellow Michiganders.

Pontiac and GM created their own problems. They failed to give the customer what they wanted. Instead of improvements and refinements to the flagship vehicles that actually sold they allowed those cars to become stale and dated. They also propped up nameplates that did not sell and allowed it to drag to the brand down. This should serve as a wake up to all businesses, be mindful of the consumer and the market. Innovate and improve or become irrelevant and non profitable.
