Anyone near Beltway 8 and Almeda?

I just saw 2 ducks/birds/something sitting in the shoulder in the center of the beltway right before the toll plaza before the Almeda exit going westbound. I would have turned around to try to see if they're okay and hopefully either relocate them to a field off the tollway or taken them to the Wildlife Rehab, but I am on my way to meet a coworker for work and have to be in Katy by 1:00.

I'm going to try to see if they're still there on my way back home, but figured it wouldn't hurt to put this out there, if any of you are like me and would otherwise stop everything they're doing to male sure they're all right if I didn't have work obligations. :(

Well, we had a kind of emergency back at the house, so I couldn't make the U-turn on my way home to see if they were still there. :(
