    Pet shop owner fined for selling goldfish

    Believe it or not! Who would of thought that one could be fined for selling a goldfish?

    Great-grandmother Joan Higgins, 66, was caught by council bosses in an undercover investigation after she unwittingly sold the fish to the 14-year-old boy, breaching new animal welfare laws.

    You have to love the judicial system! Never mind the real criminals we have smaller fish to fry(pun intentended).

        I have no idea what them boys are doing over on that side of the pond, but this is outrageous!

        The women is a grandmother!

        They spent all that time and money to set up a "sting" operation against a grandmother just trying to make a living.
        I ate my fish that died.

          The old bitty got exactly what she deserved...selling a minor a goldfish...everyone knows that goldfish are gateway fish. Next thing you he'll be setting up 10 Tropheus tanks in a one bedroom apartment.

            can you say PETA ~ should have claimed they sold it as a feeder fish for an Oscar

                I would not like to have laws and "sting" operations like in the UK over here in the U.S. over a stupid stuff such as a goldfish! There are plenty of current U.S., state, county and city laws on the books that are not enforced as much as this law/ incident in the UK. sunrise
