Gene did you watch any of the games Vince started this season? He was excellent in the pocket this year. He really stepped up. Just before his first start all the Vince haters started bashing him saying he was a bad pocket passer and unless he got better he was going to burn again. Well from the beginning he played exceptional in the pocket. And after that Monday night game everyone realized how much he progressed and learned except the haters like Merril Hodge. You said you cant give Vince credit for the team going 7-2 so you can give Collins credit for going 13-3 last year?

Until then however my eyes tell me Vince is not a good qaurterback. Run your eyes over these numbers and point out what it is about them that shows sucess

Take emotion and team loyalty out of eqaution and look at the numbers. These numbers would probably have seen anyone not named Vince Young either as a backup or out of the league.

How about 152 completions 259 attempts 58.7% completion % 1,879 yards 10 TD and 7 picks. 55 carries for 281 yards and 2 TD rushing in 9 games for a team that started 0-6 and got blown out by a 10-6 Patriots team and then goes 7-2. Those are what makes him a starting QB turning this team around from the pit and not to mention he did this twice remember his rookie year? Got the Titans into the playoffs after starting 0-4. Talk mess all you want but when he continuously gives the Texans fits for years to come and goes to multiple Pro-bowls and possibly Super bowls we will see

The Texans are a top 5 team on paper. But the coach sucks major balls. Just like he did in Denver. You guys had two many miss chances (minus Kris Brown) to win games. Play calling and the inabilty to push your players to the next level have you all sitting at home.

Those numbers amongst all NFL QBs place him:
ATT - 28th
COMP - 28th
COMP% - 22nd
YDS - 27th
YDS/A - 13th
TD - 26th
INT - 3rd
Passer rating - 18th
Granted some of these numbers are a little skewed because he did not start 16 games but the percentages are an accurate representation of his abilities.
Those numbers don't appear to say quality starter. However if Tennessee fans are content with those numbers I wish them and their QB the best of luck. It will be fun to watch them compete in the AFC South

Tell you what those are starter numbers and put him with talent and we would be talking different story. I promise you if he were on the Cowboys this year his stats would have been a hell of a lot better than on the Titans because the Cowboys quality of the receiving corps is more talented then Titans

Agree the intangibles are not measurable and they more often than not are what wins games. Vince's ability to will his teammates to tackle any challenge and win a game is the reason he has a good record as a starter in the NFL and the reason he won more games than anyone at Texas until a little kid name Colt came

I can also refer you to some of my old Army buddies who stayed up with me to watch the 2005 National Championship game till it ended at 5 AM beciause of the seven hour time differnce. We did this knowing we had a patrol leaving the wire at 7am. But my loyalty to UT is in question because I removed emotion from the equation? The numbers say it better than I can.

I just hope that I am still allowed to root for UT in this National Championship after doubting Vince Young

You can root for whomever you choose. But you still cannot take away the "intangibles" (thanks Darbex) that he bring to the game. Your Qb is your leader..he have lead the other 22 players ?!?!?! (same team offense and defense right). Defense have to trust the offense!

My Texans sucked a hard one at the beginning of the season as so did the stinking Titans and most of it had to do with coaching on both teams, plus a retarded kicker plane and simple !
