  • What I'd Like To Accomplish In 2010...

I thought it might be a fun thread to find out what your New Years Resolution is and to name a few things that you'd like to accomplish in 2010. Here goes...

My resolution is to quit smoking. I know I can do it, I'm just lazy. I quit the alchohol and drugs on my own, so the cigarettes should be a breeze.

Some things I'd like to accomplish in 2010:
    1. Record a full length album (with or without a band)
    2. Finish both sleeves (tattoos)
    3. Go back to school and learn how to open, operate and own my own bar.

    Now its your turn...

I'm gonna get back to working out. I've never been this heavy in my life and I'm done with it.

I'd like to get off the cigarettes, too.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

I hope to graduate in 2010! Unless something unforeseen comes up, I should be graduating Dec 2010.

I'd also like to work on improving my health.

Not unrealistic, I once lost 100# in 3 months, powdered proteen drinks for breakfast & lunch and dinner was a woping 3 oz meat & 4oz vegetables.
The trick is to not put it back on, but I always revert to the same bad habbits.

You're better off if you can change your bad eating habits and lose the weight gradually.

He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

I will be quitting smoking at some point, but I haven't decided exactly when. It might be this year, but I don't want to commit to it until I am truly committed. I know I will no longer be smoking by the time I start working as a therapist, and that will take at least 3 more years of education (1 more year of undergrad work, and then 2 years for a masters). I'm just scared to quit. My weight soared 50 pounds last year so I need to get that under control or I'm afraid I'd only be trading out bad health risks of smoking for bad health risks of obesity.

For now, I'm taking things one step at a time. My goal last year was to get back into school, and I've completed 21 hours, all A's (yea!! ). I had almost no energy after being depressed for so long so I scheduled my classes to force myself to be at the UofH campus M-F and walk very fast between classes for exercise. By the end of the semester, I could tell a difference.

I neglected my health completely while depressed so now I'm focused on getting more healthy. Somewhere in that plan is to quit smoking; I just don't know when.
