When I worked at Petsmart about 7 years ago I was sexually harassed by an older male employee but since the only witness was a friend of his he was ordered to stay out of my department.  I wasn't the only one who had complained.  Needless to say he still worked there when I quit at the end of the summer.

OH, congrats on the job offer!  My brother-in-law started working at Bank of America last year sometime and has already moved up in the company.  I bet the same happens for you.

Congratulations on the job offer!  Remember that what we say affects what we think which in turn impacts our attitude and actions.  And besides, someone at work may read this post some day and misinterpret your comment.  We know that you mean it is an "entry-level position with exciting opportunities for advancement" but a colleague may not see it that way.  Anyway, best of luck to you.

I would suggest going to back to school part-time or full time if you can , to add some kind of "computer" to your resume.
My step son has a degree in Finance, and fortunately had a minor in some computer catagory. By 35 , and several jobs later he is well over 100,000/yr.

gt3guru i have a question for you:  The manager or whoever does the hiring called me to schedule a interview, does that usually mean you get the job?

Sorry mjy, i didn't get an email when you posted. Yes. usually if you get a call they'll hire you. Unless something weird happens in the interview.

                    Re: Job hunt, Networking

Getting depressed now. after the career fair i thought I was a shoe in for the next personal banker position that came available.  was told in may they could start hiring. but the PB positions came and went and not even a hint of interest.

This job at Petsmart is really wearing on me and I'm going to have to quit soon before I lose it.

Any bankers in the audience? I need help

Not a banker, but our company could use an accountant. Don't know you from Adam but  can steer you to the right people who can decide if you pass the mustard. Pop me an email if you're still in the job-hunting phase.

                      Best regards,

                      William

I think i may have actually found a job! entry level but I'll be in a bank.

My dad does accounting work for small businesses, Mostly service stations, but does a little bit of everything.  not sure what you are looking for but he's a good guy and could steer you in the right direction.

You could also try Accountemps. its a temp agency just for accounting. i'm sure they could find someone.
