Anyone here work turnaround or shutdowns?

I work 3pm - 1am right now

at my last job I was a manager for a major grocery store chain and it was very common for me to have to work until 1 or 2 am and have to be back are 7 or 8. I also had to pull many many graveyards

I was talking more on the petro/chemical side of things, my last job I worked from 6pm till 6:30 am 7 day a week for 12 weeks.

well you didn't say that, and while I technically don't work in that industry, the company I work for services the oil/gas industry

Sorry I wasn't trying to be mean just looking for other people in the business. in my line of work the more people you know the easier it is to get a Job.

yes he does. i work at a large oil refinery and just got off nights working a turnaround. geoff works in the chemical industry and so does tatoo, i believe.

20 yr ago, does that count? Maybe "work" isn't the right word; I was an engineering consultant and just hung around (and tried to stay awake) in case a problem was found. And if there was , the answer was usually ; "grind out the weld, MT the groove , and increase the preheat".

I am in Maintenance and work regular plant work and plant turnarounds.
