I had an real estate inspector come by a property that i wanted to purchase and he pointed out something about the attic that made me a little uneasy. I though i'd pick you guys' brains for opinions before i send for another framing inspector. Since i am a construction virgin, any opinions are greatly appreciated.
It's a 1 story 60's ranch style home. Aside from some major cleanup & insulating work.....One side of the roof is purlin braced like crazee..... Looks like recent reinforcement work.
But yet on the other side there is significantly less bracing. Looks like original purlins..... Is this any cause for concern? Why did they brace one side but not bother with the other? Wouldn't it be prudent to brace the other side also?
