It took me 3 months to receive my renewed DL(usually takes 2 weeks). The new DLs look and feel kind of cheap

correct, if your DL has not lapsed, you can do it online.

If it has, fastest way is to go to the DPS office nearest you and apply in person, I did let mine lapse and I had to go, I was inside for like half an hour, I remember needing the new one because I could not get my new 1911 from the gunshop after paying for it.

I did mine online and it took them....i did it the first week of April, did not get my renewed license until end of June. They are 6-8 weeks behind because of some computer glitch, so on top of it usually taking 2-4 weeks, you can tack on an extra 6-8 weeks. good luck!

yup i did mine mid april and got it back just this past friday, think it may be do to the swcith over to the new ones

i did it online 3 weeks ago and only to found out this week that they were having some issues or something, and it'll be awhile for them to send it out, i didn't have a printer when i renew, anyways long story short, i decided to stop by and tell them what is happening, they fix my problem and give me a temp one and tell me i will get it in 2 weeks.. problem solved... placed order for the rifle, paid for, if i am lucky, it gets here tomorow, if not it will be tuesday
