shark fin soup is way over rated... it doesn't matter if theres shark fin in it or just plain mung bean noodles (aka fake fins)... what matter is the stock its serve in... but even that don't worth 50 - 300 bucks a serving/cup...Comment

Shark Fin soup, never seen so many people at one sitting turn down a dish until I was at a meeting in South Korea. Went to a business meeting with a bunch of ex-oil rig hands who now run the drilling company, well at one point we were served a 7 course meal, one of the course being Shark Fin soup.
That was the least eaten item served, even the Kimchi was eat mor than the soup.
I ate all mine, thought it tasted delicious but can understand the other peoples reaction. The Korea people at the meeting commented on how good this one was and praised the resturant on the quality of it. It was my only experience, so I can't judge quality. I do worry that if it was really good quality I might have to high of standards about it now.Kingwood is my location, everyone is far away.
All fish stores are far away.

shark fin has ZERO taste... it will taste like whatever its serve with... and the quality depends on which fin it is and if its whole thing or not...and what type of shark is used, from what i understand whale shark suppost to be the best... but i think its all overrated and they should just eat other parts of the shark....Comment

they way they used to get the fins was cut them off and release the shark back in the wild to die, so that was the big issue, sharks are overfished just like a lot of others in the world.Never fear I is here
