    Re: Hi FishBoxers! Newbie Here!

    Howdy
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Don't be shy, show us pics. I'm sure your tanks are awsome too.
I have a crappy camera and the pictures I have now are even crappier. I will try to take some more tonight. I have to take them at night because of the light that reflects through my window during the day. I did get some (I think terrible) pictures of my mysterious albino snail. It's all fuzzy because I can't manually focus on my camera. It's meant to fit inside my purse easily not take professional pictures.

Anyways, does anyone know what species he is? Whatever he is he doesn't reproduce asexually or I would have tons of his clones. As far as I know he is the only hitchhiking snail I have.

            Re: Hi FishBoxers! Newbie Here!

I finally took pictures but they are crap.    My camera sucks. With the flash it looks weird and without it is fuzzy, so I picked out some of the kinda fuzzy but not so fuzzy pictures.

Here is my 2.5 gallon tank. It looks better than it did (just cleaned the tank) because I have been having problems with brown algae. Oh and the blue Betta's name is Beauty. My sister named him and I kept the name when she gave him to me. He wasn't in ideal conditions when we first got him (we didn't know any different) so his fins have a melted look. They have actually healed a great deal this fall and almost look normal. The only exception is his dorsal fin which is really kinda funny looking.

Here is my 5 gallon tank. I am also having problems with brown algae. The weird thing is that my nitrates were zero. Could it be phosphates? Elmo has some ripped fins because of the plastic plant I had in the tank originally (never doing that with a Betta again). They are also healing pretty good (just kinda colorless). I'm not really liking the Elodea (Anacharis) in the back. It looks weedy, never stays where I put it, and the leaves turn brownish all the time. I want to eventually replace it.

Here are the pictures I got of my 10 gallon. The first one is very blurry. I need to find some way of keeping the camera still while I take the pictures. The second is of d'Artagnan's cave. d'Art is a really shy fish. I almost never see him leave the cave except to finally eat the food I dropped in. And it is during the day when the light through my window would ruin a picture and I don't have my camera out. Plus he zips right back inside the moment I get any closer to the tank. <sigh> I hope that other fish will help him become more outgoing. And maybe his cave in the new tank won't be so big that it will force him to come out of hiding once in a while.

Seriously? Tanks! Oops. I meant thanks! Which cave? The one in the 5 gallon or the 10? I saw another one that is similar (same style) but is not really a cave. Top Fin Layered Flat Stone My first fish Luke loved the large cave, except he came out whenever I came to the glass. All I would have to do was call his name and he would appear. It could be pitch black in the room (bichirs have bad eyesight) and he would show up.
