      LOSER!

Also SAE's are really hit and miss when it comes to eating algae but they love moss.

        Re: Leprae checking in...

Thanks to everyone for the positive comments and warm welcomes!  It definitely gave me a much-needed morale booster concerning my tank!  :P

I'm still debating what to do with the little 1.5 gal.  A planted shrimp tank would be wonderful, but I'm hoping to use the UGF with the tank.  Most plants don't tend to do too well in gravel with a UGF.  Also, I don't know that I'd be able to effectively boost the lighting on it.  It's a pretty crummy 15 watt incandescant bulb, and I don't see any way of easily retrofitting the thing

        Thanks, but... what's clado?

I would maybe even suggest taking the rock out and placing it in a tank with some scuds. They'll do the job well. 8)
What are scuds? (Other than a type of missile?      )

          Re: Leprae checking in...

Scuds are tiny amphipods or tiny shrimp like crustaceans that are often used as live feeders for smaller fish. Anybody know who in town has some? As for clado, I dunno... ek?

            Re: Leprae checking in...

I have scuds! So does islander here on HFB, he tends to bring a few cultures to every auction (where mine are from originally).

Lemme find a picture of them...Okay, well, this might take a while. I'll get back to that.

Umm, my guess for "clado" is...cladomorpha?? No idea.

            EDIT- I mean cladophora?

                Re: Leprae checking in...

Oh, thanks!   :)  Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

Really though, I don't mind it being on the wood (it's actually not a rock, not that you can tell easily).  It actually looks nice, and when it gets too long, I'm able to trim it down by tugging on it.  It's next to impossible to get completely off, though, so I've given up trying.  My only concern is that it helps to seed the rest of the tank with algae.

Don't tug on it.....if you want to trim it remove the piece that it's attached to and trim in a bucket of old water or something.
