  • Lymphocystis

    Type of Disease
    Viral Disease
    Disease Name:
    Lymphocystis
    Additional Names:
    Cauliflower Disease
    General Information:
Lymphocystic disease is a chronic, slowly developing viral disease. The legions are rough, warty growths on the skin and fins. They can be large growths, or small clusters resembling cauliflower. They are usually white to gray-white, and sometimes pink. Most times the legions will disappear on their own.

Lymphocystis is extremely infectious. However, some fish are more susceptible to it than others.
    Diagnostic Pointers
The only way to diagnose lymphocystis is to identify the growths.
    Treatment
There is no cure for lymphocystis, however it is very seldom fatal. Keeping the water clean and stress factors minimal will help manage the outbreaks.
