This is a very large, beautiful predatory fish and the most common of the various Datnioides species available in the hobby.
I have 3 Dats living together in a 240g with other large carnivorous fish. They do not fight with other fish, but occasionally run each other out of a cave they want.

Beware - these fish will eat smaller fish. They are amazing preditors, hiding in caves and waiting for their opportunity to strike. They are fast hunters. In addition to live food, they eat bloodworms, earthworms, silversides, krill, and pretty much any chunk of meaty food I provide them.
