I know its not a freshwater ?, but maybe some of you can answer this.  My 200g saltwater tank has crappy lights on it and is causing problems.  What type of light can I put on this thing to brighten it up and make it look good.  I keep getting the dreaded red algea all over the tank, some say its the lights, can this be true?  Any help would be appreciated.

        Re: Lights

Red Slime algae is cyanobacteria.... lighting is on the small end of the problems.

Like geoff_tropheus suggested... try posting it over on Marshreef.com. Also try and post more specific info about the tank like parameters, equipment, filtration, maintenance routine, etc.

I would look into a nutrient/waste problem before bothering with lighting.
