Ok where to start... I just got back from a 3 day trip up to Canyon Lake(wow that was fun) where I returned home with NO holey rock, that I heard was everywhere up there :( . I came home only to find that I had 3 fish deaths while I was gone. The water was super cloudy, so I went to the store and bought a Whisper 60 filter for my 22-25gal. tall tank. I hope this will be enough to get the water back into good shape. How long should it take to clear the water? ALSO, Does anybody know where to find Holey Rock in the wild(not in stores)?

Probably EK's front yard when he is not looking.Originally posted by newb";p="ALSO, Does anybody know where to find Holey Rock in the wild(not in stores)?
I know you want to find your own, but if you can't, the upcoming HAS auction would be a good place to try.PLECOS SUCK!

If you need dog collars, check the tree in his back yard!
EK probably also sells slightly used microchips also. :wink:PLECOS SUCK!

I use Penguin 350 Biowheel filters on my 20 gallon tanks. That water stays clear!PLECOS SUCK!

Re: Another filtration question!
If you add some AP Pro Crystal Clear (I got this from Fish Gallery), it will clear up within an hour.
Did you change out at least half or more of the water?

Re: Another filtration question!
Can you leave BOTH filters on? I prefer to over than under filter. For example, on my 55 gallon tank I have an Aquaclear 500, a Penguin 170 Biowheel, A modified Fish Mate pond filter, 2 large sponge filters, and a System 3 undergravel (no longer produced) operated by powerheads.PLECOS SUCK!

Re: Another filtration question!
I would leave both filters on there... the death of the fish probably spiked the bacteria colony which is what is giving you the cloudy water.
Removing an established filter is surely not gonna help and establishing a mature bacteria colony has no set time.700g Mini-Monster tank
