I am thinking about setting up a small tank in my office (5 gallons or so). Only problem is I don't know what I want to do with it. Any thoughts? First thing that came to mind was killifish. What would you do? Keep in mind that I am in the education field, so money IS an object. :)

Re: New tank
Put a diagonal divider and add 2 bettas.'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Re: New tank
-shrimp
-killies
-pair or trio of shellies - I think these guys are prolly better somewhere where you get a lot of time to watch them and notice their interactions. if you just check on them occasionally you miss the interactions and just see the "hovering by or in a shell"
-dwarf puffer(s) - only downside is the feeding, gotta keep frozen/live stuff around for them...

Re: New tank
I like to keep a 10 gallon with guppies and raise small blue crays with them.... when the crays are little, the guppies are bigger and for some reason I have had great luck raising them together. For some reason the blue crays don't realize they have grown. I am getting ready to use my baby crays and some of my guppies to my classroom. I just have to get their water warm enough since during the day my room is 58 lol. Re: New tank
Okay.... so we are down to shrimp or killies.
There will definitely be plants in the tank, but I'm not doing to do the ADA stuff. I'll probably sitck with mosses, needle leaf Java Fern, and Anubius nana "petite".
The tropheus are for my pond eventually. :wink:Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
