FYI- Dragon Gobies are brackish - meaning that they need some salt in the water to live a long healthy life.
I know it doesn't help much now, but might come in handy in the future.
Where did the goldfish come from? there were a few questions Nacra99 asked that I think are important...
"Any new additions recently? "
"How long has it been set up? "
Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
quick post hi this is 278923's bro he wanted me to add he now has tails missing he is removing the osy barb he thinks is doing it next to be quarantined is the bichir...... Thanks all he will try to keep u informed XD
Well.. Rosy barbs are aggressive with other fish if kept alone or in schools smaller than 5 or 6. Plus they have a tendency to give long finned fish "haircuts". Any weakened fish might be an easy target for him.
I would take him out for now and see.
However if he has been living with them for a while, i suspect there might be some "bug" going around your tank.
With the limited information, i think your treatment of Quick Cure is appropriate. The formalin should take care of any protozoans (ich or velvet etc). The Malchite Green should take care of the bacterial infections.
Raise your temperature to about 76 (or better 78) SLOWLY!!!! Keep watch on your fish to make sure that the temperature is not stressing them out. If they start "huffing and puffing", ease back on the temperature.
The increased temp should speed up the life cycle of the ich so that it goes away faster.
ok my tank is.... i bought used so.... im gonna guess based off measurements 44gals the water test shows.. Nitrates 0-20,Nitrites 0, Total hardness 75/Soft,chlorine 0,alkalinity 120,PH 7.2
How about ammonia??
That stuff kills deader than dead ... quicker than quick.
the cycling is already done this tank is getting close to 6 months old. I ended up finding out that it wasnt the rosy barb and yes im sry about the totally retarded incomplete lists im trying to do this without my dad getting pissed at me so i cant go count XD. Ummmmmmm i found what i beleive to be the problem thx all. ill re-post if i find differently. thx
