  • White residue issue....

Hey guys, so I got this old aquarium and it has these white residue towards the top. I read that vinegar usually takes it off along with some hard scrubbing but still it didn't work. Do you guys suggest using something else?

I forgot to mention that I did use a razor blade after I scrubbed with vinegar but still no result it would look like it has came off. Gotta find another solution. You think maybe a type of vinegar i would say?

the regular distilled white stuff. i've heard of using CLR but i would be EXTREMELY careful doing this.

also, if the water line will be above this when you fill the tank, it will be invisible. it will just slowly build back up as long as the tank is running, too.

Make sure you're soaking it in the vinegar for some time and not just using vinegar on paper trying to wipe it off. After soaking, hit it with the razor and elbow grease.

If its really bad and the vinegar doesn't work. Buy u some flat scrapping razors and get a bottle of the Zep clr from HD , and scape the tank. After rinse it with water , then wash it out using dawn dish soap rinse very good , then air dry.

Noting like good old fashion elbow grease. You can also fill it with water, let it sit for a day and start scraping away

                      +1.

We've used CLR before with no problems, just have to be very careful about rinsing well.
