  • Aquarium Reseal services

Whats going guys! Well today I need help finding some places around houston that reseal aquariums. I have a 125 gallon tank that my Grandpa had just given me but the seals look pretty bad in it so I dont want to put water in yet. If you guys knows some places hit me up, prices would be nice too.

If it matters I dont know what type of aquarium it is people are telling me its Oceanic but i cant tell.

    Re: Aquarium Reseal services

I think Aqua Zoo may still do it.

We can walk you through the process if you want to DIY.

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

It's quite easy to do yourself......maybe just a little time consuming .

I would so do it myself if it was in terms of saving money but for some reason I don't feel confrontable doing it myself, that why i prefer a professional.

                You will need.....

                1. Razor Blades (used to remove the old seals)
                2. Alcohol (use this to clean and prep the area before applying the new silicone)
                3. GE Silicone l (one tube should be enough..but get two tubes just in case)
                4. Rubber Gloves
                5. A spoon or old credit card /gift card (used to spread your silicone bead into the corners)

Home depot actually sells an aquarium silicone now. It's in a black & green tube.

Make sure you give it 48 hrs to cure before leak test

Helpful hint......when the heavy vinegar smells is gone....then it's ready for the water test .
