Yes, the FX5 will be a good addition to the tank. I think the Mag 9.5 is enough for the tank and wet/dry you have.

I like them both for what they are. If somebody wants to buy an FX5 for $150 I will encourage them to go right ahead, especially when the intention is to run them along with a wet/dry. I have 4 FX5 and 2 Eheims running right now and have no complaints about any of them.
