  • Air bubbles in Silicone

I recently purchased a used 90 gallon tank and noticed it has air bubbles running down the left and right sides of the tank, how concerned should I be?

    Hardly.

Can you post pictures of it? As long as the bubbles don't run inbetween the glass pages you're good

Just for the record, that was my tank. It has held water just fine for a long as I've had it with no leaks. I got used to seeing the bubbles I guess. My 125 also has a few bubbles in the vertical seals as well but has held up just fine and I've had it longer than the 90.

I wouldn't worry at all about it. My 125 has some and there's no issues holding on it. You got a good tank, bubbles just have to be lived with some times.

I've actually cut the silicone on some of my tanks before to give it a cleaner look. The major silicone to worry about is the silicone inbetween the glass panes.

There's the silicone that's wedged between the glass at the corners.

The flattened silicone you see that is visible on a single pane is just run off that is spread. It does little to actually hold the two glass pieces together.

                              No problemo.

Joking aside, Sunny is good peoples and I'm sure he wouldn't have pawned off a lemon.
