I have an 18,000K and it gives the tank a redish-pink hue. It really makes the reds and oranges in the fish come out, so if red is a theme in the tank then it may be something to think about.

Went to walmart, picked up 2 aquarium bulbs. 9000K was the only thing they had in the fish dept. I grabbed them up, put them in the tank. They look GREAT

Here's the before and after.

I completely forgot to look at the exact info on the bulb. I got it from walmart in the fish dept for about $5 each. I know it's (2) 18" 9300K (9300 something!). If anyone wants the exacts...please let me know

wow, what a big difference, no just remember, you may have to keep buying them every 6 months or so, because the coloring will shift, but your eyes wont manage to see it until you put in new bulbs again; and older bulbs tend to elicit algae growth
