    A colony of tropheus doesn't really appear or show themselves as a "colony" unless there's like 50 of them.

      Tropheus can live comfortably, breed and not kill each other in a > 4' tank as long as the above is considered.

                                Kid related lessons:
                                Don't leave the paint out overnight after painting the tank background. You'll wake up to a matching stand.

                                Any kitchen utensils she can reach will end up in the tank.

                                Sticks from the tree outside belong in saltwater aquaria. (according to her)

                                Sumps are fun to climb into.

                                Tropheus won't die from eating fruit loops or crayons.
