    Rams it is!

I'm thinking that maybe if I frosted the back glass, i could give it both a nice glow with the proper lighting, but also hide some of the equipment, including a canister.

Still, the Fluval G3 looks awfully neat

So, granite is installed... And I've been thinking through all the options for a nano-tank.

Who can tell me: Why shouldn't I just get an Edge!?

No reason I can think of if it's what you want. Would look really nice in location.

Extreme thought. Drill holes in granite counter top so you can run your plumbing for a canister filter.

Not extreme at all I spent an hour or so yesterday reading DIY and watching youtube on drilling granite. Nothing I couldn't handle, but think I'll make it a next step in the evolution of the tank.

I've been all over the place with what to do with this space, but I think I will start with an Edge - if only because its so elegantly put together (perhaps to a fault). I'll probably impulse buy one in the next few days unless I can figure out a good way to do a real ADG style tank without tripling the cost of the Edge

Hell, I even thought maybe I'd buy two Edges, remove their side glass panes, and silicon them together! I couldnt sleep last night, so the engineer in me was running wild.... on the bright side, I snuck downstairs and had the luxury of finding both my plecos enjoying so cucumber. I rarely get to see them.

          /Rambleoff.

....now I'll have zeppelin in my head for the rest of the day.

Well didn't mean in a sense of difficult, just didn't think you'd want to do it. At least I'm not the only one with the engineer brain going. Lol! I thought up some crazy tanks before. In the end it's gonna be sweet!

Actually, I was thinking that drilling a hole in the granite would be the best solution, as well. But perhaps an alternative would be to make a hole in the wall next. Route the tubing through the wall and bring it back out underneath somewhere where it would be hidden by the desk. You can get blank faceplates and drill it out as needed to make a nice, clean fit.

Bar is all finished, ready for a tank (And more liquor)

cdelicath on nano-reef.com makes pico aquariums. The owners of the tanks seem pretty happy and they look nice. Personally, I'd rather make it myself, or go with an ADA and add the acrylic wall and powerhead.
