Rock and Sponge Filter

anyone own one of these? how have they work out for you? i got a 10 gallons aquarium that i know will over stock gradually, i'm running a penguin 100, aquaclear 20, and one of these sponge filter.


i've noticed the rock i putted in my aquarium is getting this greenish brown texture, is this desirable?

I have sponge filters in all my tanks and they serve their purpose for me. There maybe others that beg the difference.

Yes that is desirable, that is algae. If you have lights on for a long period of time then reduce the time that your lights are on. Also get you some bristlenose plecos and they will help with the algae.
