    Re: crayfish/crawfish

I went to HEB this weekend and bought 3 of their smallest crayfish. at 1.69 a pound my 3 small ones cost a wopping 19 cents.

isolated them a few days and the 2 that survived were quite tasty for my puffer.

Unfortunetly I didn't get to see him eat. maybe next weekend

      Yea,
I like to isolate mine in a 5 gallon stainless steel tank.   I pretreat the water with salt, bayleaves and other meds then preheat it to  100 degrees C.   It kills off all the parasites and they turn a bright red.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Suggestion:  Put little rubberbands on the claws like they do with the lobsters at the grocery store.  They won't have a fighting chance.

              Re: crayfish/crawfish

Hello, I have a mbu, about 7.5" and had put what I believe was crawfish in with him purchased at a LFS. He ate 1 or 2 but I think he did not care for them and the crawfish cut the vails of 2 of my angels so I took them out and put them in my 75gal cichlid tank at work, they would team up on the crawfish and after 3 days they were all gone. My MBU baby unfortunately ate 1 of my corys last night, I actually witnessed this. I had fed him in the a.m. and usually feed him again at 7p.m. or so but I guess he did not want to wait. I always knew this would be a possability but I did'nt think it would be for another 6mo or so. I know he is only doing what is natural to him.

My MBU is now in a 220gal set up just last week, purchased at Fish Gallery.Omar was and his staff were a great help. They also did the instalation, on time, very profassional job! I will post pictures this weekend

The demensions of the tank are 6'x2'x29". To be honest I do not Know a price on the tank alone, I was quoted for a package deal. Tank, stand. canopy, 72" lunar aqualight and eheim 2262 plumbed underneath.
